Cisco 2700 Access Point (int)

Cisco Aironet 2700 Series Wireless Access Point with integrated aerials and LGfL central USO authentication, plus Clean Air Technology

The Cisco Aironet 2700i dual-band controller-based Access Point delivers 802.11a/g/n WLAN coverage for rugged indoor environments. With 3x4 multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technology with three spatial streams, which sustains 450-Mbps rates over a greater range for more capacity and reliability than competing access points, these units happily support all forms of data transfer up to and including Video streaming.

Also includes Cisco CleanAir technology, which provides proactive, high-speed spectrum intelligence to combat performance problems due to wireless interference for a self-healing, self-optimized network.

All of these features help ensure the best possible end-user experience on the wireless network.

After an initial fee to configure the unit, there are no on-going charges. The unit is 100% managed by the LGfL connection and so produces wireless with no local management overhead. It's authentication and control systems are managed by a central pair of Cisco 5508 wireless controllers, the unit comes complete with all the required licenses to integrate in this solution.

These units integrate into the LGfL USO authentication system providing granular control over users and access to the wireless network.

Each base station by default broadcasts an Admin network, a Curriculum network and a Guest network with control for access to these networks in the hands of the Nominated contact in the establishment the units are installed in.

Further granular control is available as these units integrate with the WebScreen II filter system and will allow individual users to receive the filter policy that they would normally receive from within their establishment.

In addition users from other establishments can visit and use any LGfL connected wireless systems and be filtered using their home establishment filter policy assuming the local establishment allows this access.

This is particularly useful for local Libraries who can use the system to enforce school filter policy upon any user in the system.
